Chapter Breakfast Pictures
- September 2005
An outstanding
event in fellowship! Forty-Five or so in attendance many with families.
Another important element of our breakfast was the "old" folks reaching
back and shaking hands with those coming along in today's Army. We
presented an award to a young parachute rigger who is carrying on the
rigger spirit and tradition, this to me is important. In attendance we
had Bill Steele who made the D-Day jump into Normandy and into Holland,
61 years ago today. We also had Charlie Churchill, one of the very first
Rigger School instructors, along with the commanders of E Co, 782nd, and
the 824th along with the 82nd ABN DIV Parachute Officer. COL's Bill Kern
and Jim Doyle, (both retired) and SPC Eric Boza-Smith and CPL Cory
Baker, both young riggers carrying on the tradition.
The Red Hat Chapter is, indeed
accomplishing its stated goals and objectives.
